Awesome Anki decks for you
In this post, I introduce four great Anki decks for studying Japanese. All of these are high quality and have Japanese and English translations. Please note, Anki decks are sometimes removed by the authors who publish them which I don’t have any control over. However when I checked all these decks were still available. (20/9/17)
I haven’t included any Genki textbook decks as when I was studying that level there were no good decks that were complete or without typos or errors. That might have changed now as Anki decks are constantly been uploaded by users.
Dictionary of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Japanese Grammar deck
This deck is one of the most useful Anki decks for Japanese grammar. It takes the grammar from Dictionary of Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Japanese Grammar and puts them into Anki format. Very nicely made, with lots of example sentences and easy to understand explanations
Tae Kim’s Grammar Deck
This Tae Kim grammar deck uses diagrams to help explain the grammar from Tae Kim’s grammar guide. It is very nicely organised and people can adapt the type of diagrams according to their own needs. Possibly, a bit confusing for beginners or people new to Anki though.
2 Onomatopoeia decks
In Japanese, there are an incredible number of onomatopoeia. Knowing what they mean and how to use them will take your Japanese to the next level. Most of these onomatopoeia words are probably for intermediate or advanced levels learners. For learning Japanese onomatopoeia （擬音語・擬声語） these two decks by the Onomoto project has nice manga style drawings to help you remember. These look professionally made and are higher quality than the majority of Anki decks.
Have you found any Anki decks that you think are great? If so, please leave a comment with the details of where you found the deck and what it is called in the comments section below (free registration here) and let other readers know. Thanks for reading! ?
